Sony DVD Handycam Camcorder - DCRDVD101

Why rent DVDs when you can make your own with the DCR-DVD101 Handycam® camcorder. It records high quality digital video on 3-inch DVD-R and DVD-RW media that can easily be viewed on most current DVD players and PCs. It is even capable of capturing thousands of 640 x 480 resolution JPEG images, making it a virtual digital still camera. It’s perfect for vacations, holidays, or other family events.

Amazingly, the DCR-DVD101 is 29% smaller and 23% lighter than last year’s model. Despite it’s small size, it comes with all the features you would expect from a high-end camcorder, such as a 10X optical zoom, a 2.5" hybrid SwivelScreen™ LCD display, and Super NightShot Plus infrared system. It even includes a 1.0 Megapixel Advanced HAD™ CCD imager and a Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar® lens, which combine to give unmatched image quality.

  The Vario Tessar lens is specially produced for very compact cameras. This specialized design allows quick autofocus, appealing zoom range while still maintaining a compact design.

  Battery information is momentarily displayed without having to power on the camcorder. Quickly access the battery's status by pressing the Battery Info button. The Recording Time Available is displayed in minutes on either the LCD screen or in the viewfinder.
